Veterinary Hospital and Livestock Services Expert Center is an office under the Directorate of Livestock and Fisheries Development, the Ministry of Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives, Gandaki Province. The Ministry of Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives was established on B.S. 2074/10/22 with the aim of creating employment opportunities by transforming the sector by creating competitive conditions through mechanization, commercialization, marketing and modernization in agriculture and livestock production and business. Under this Ministry is the Directorate of Livestock and Fisheries Development and under it, this expert center has been formally established by the Hon'ble Minister of Internal Affairs and Law, Hon'ble Mr. Hari Bahadur Chuman on Bhadra 6, 2075. The jurisdiction of this office is presently two districts Tanahun and Nawalparasi Bardaghat Susta East. A liaison unit has been set up at Bardaghat Susta East Kawasoti in Nawalparasi under this center. The center covers a total of 18 local levels including 10 in Tanahun district and 8 in Nawalparasi Bardaghat Susta East. The center, which has potential for commercial livestock and fisheries, has various programs for self-reliance in livestock products like milk, eggs, fish and meat for export promotion such as animal breeding; animal feed development, animal health protection, scientific technology and skill development, diversification of animal products. Emphasis has been placed on the operation of processing and market management programs. While maintaining environmental and social balance, the office is working hard to make rural people self-reliant and capable by increasing animal productivity to reduce poverty by increasing food security, nutrition, income and employment of rural families.
